Our History

Union Imaging Center, located in the heart of Union County New Jersey, first opened its doors in 1990, and has set the standard in imaging expertise ever since.  In January of 2010, Dr. Howard Kessler and Dr.Sam Mayerfield formed a partnership with RadNet, Inc. to better enhance UIC’s technical and service capabilities.  RadNet is a national leader in diagnostic imaging that operates more than 160 centers in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, Delaware and Kansas.

As part of our commitment to continually enhance our services, we frequently upgrade our imaging equipment and facilities.  Past and Present upgrades at UIC include:

Digitial Mammography- UIC converted to a digital mammography platform in 2005 to enhance its complete women’s imaging program.

In 2010, we will be replacing our existing low-field Open MRI unit with New Jersey’s first truly high field Open MRI system.

On March 29, 2010, we added a dedicated women’s imaging center at 2770 Morris Ave, UIC Women’s Imaging Center.  The new facility will provide the full-range of breast, and women’s imaging studies, including the ability to perform biopsies in a comfortable, outpatient environment.
